Fordite Freeform Statement Ring *8*
This piece of Fordite was hand-shaped by me in order to get a free form shape with maximum paint patterns exposed and highlighted. Hand-stamped ouroboros details the sterling silver band with silver beads accenting the Fordite.
This ring is a size 8 US. The size of finished rings can not be made smaller, only made larger by 1/2 - 1 size.
Fordite (or Detroit Agate) is not a stone at all. It is a brilliant way to repurpose the decades of paint drips collected at auto factories. Lapidary artists collect chunks of baked paint then they cut it with lapidary equipment just like a stone.
